Methodology
Unseeded shows recorded player stats and fantasy points when an accepted source import is available. This page explains the calculation, the source record, and what the current tools cannot tell you.
Actuals are past results
The stats leaderboard and linked player profiles read accepted, imported player-game rows. A season total adds the recorded games available for that player in the selected regular season; a week selection narrows the same records. The game count is the number of recorded rows included, not proof that every scheduled game or player was captured.
Fantasy points are calculated from those counting stats. They are results, not a forecast, player value, or recommendation. No result is shown as a zero merely because its source row is missing.
How points are scored
The current rule is standard-fantasy-v2. Standard gives no reception bonus; half PPR adds 0.5 per reception; PPR adds 1. The other rates are the same in all three formats. The app sums the selected stats, then rounds the displayed total to two decimal places.

Example: 100 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and five receptions make 8 standard, 10.5 half PPR, or 13 PPR points when all other listed stats are zero. League-specific scoring rules are not supported.
Where the stats came from
The imported actuals come from the nflverse player-week releases. Each accepted import has a source asset, a SHA-256 file fingerprint, and a run ID. Those identify the revision used for the current result. A corrected source file can produce different totals; the selected accepted run determines which revision is read.
Source updated
The source asset's reported modification time, when provided. This says when the upstream file changed, not when Unseeded imported it.
Retrieved by Unseeded
The time Unseeded fetched that file. A recent retrieval does not by itself mean the source data was recently updated or the season is complete.
A player profile shows these times, the accepted and quarantined row counts, the run ID, file fingerprint, and a link to its source CSV when stats are available. If a source update time is absent, its freshness remains unverified. A failed newer refresh leaves the prior accepted data visible with a stale warning.
Rows with missing or invalid identity, game information, player metadata, or required scoring fields are quarantined instead of counted. Quarantined rows can leave players or games out of a view. The app currently reads regular-season QB, RB, WR, and TE player-game actuals from accepted imports. Available seasons and weeks depend on those imports; the latest observed week does not prove complete schedule coverage. K, DST, and IDP actuals are outside this view.
Forecasts are still experimental
A separate historical candidate averages a player's four most recent scored games before a target game, requiring at least three prior games. Its retrospective checks used past source snapshots and synthetic week ordering, not frozen information that was available before each kickoff. In the recorded 2025 evaluation, this candidate had more error than a simple average of all prior games for QB, RB, WR, and TE in standard, half PPR, and PPR formats.
That candidate has not been promoted into a user-facing projection, weekly board, or recommendation. Unseeded does not currently claim validated prediction quality, live data, opponent or injury adjustments, or the methods of another product.
